caffeine that fits the moment
workflow pairs 20 mg caffeine from guarana with 40 mg l-theanine in each gummy. smaller increments let you choose your caffeine amount for the moment, with the pairing built into every piece.
choose pineapple yuzu or blood orange mango. both flavors are vegan, made with pectin, and come in a resealable pouch of 40 gummies. each gummy contains 2 g sugar.
read the caffeine amount first
a weight of guarana extract and a weight of caffeine are different measurements. do not read “75 mg guarana” as “75 mg caffeine.” when comparing products, identify the stated total caffeine rather than assuming an extract weight tells the whole story.
workflow’s stated amount is 20 mg caffeine from guarana per gummy. we do not equate that with the amounts of guarana extract used in the study below.
[ INSIDE THE RESEARCH ]
8 studies · 328 participants
a small benefit for response speed; no significant accuracy benefit
extracts and caffeine contents varied. the mechanism remained unresolved.
read the studywhat a human study found
a double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 26 participants examined 37.5, 75, 150, and 300 mg of a standardized guarana extract, pc-102. it reported improvements in secondary memory and ratings of alertness and contentment; the lower extract doses produced more positive cognitive effects than the higher doses.
the researchers suggested that caffeine alone might not explain the results. this finding concerns a particular extract in a small acute study, not every guarana ingredient or product.
what the wider evidence adds
a 2023 meta-analysis pooled eight placebo-controlled studies involving 328 participants. it found a small improvement in response speed, but not in accuracy or the overall pooled cognitive result. the extracts and caffeine amounts varied.
this is a useful distinction: responding faster and answering more accurately are different outcomes. the review could not determine whether caffeine or other guarana compounds explained the findings.
does guarana mean slow release?
the cited study assessed mood and cognition. it does not demonstrate a controlled-release delivery mechanism for workflow. we would need relevant absorption data on the ingredient and formulation before making that claim.
likewise, a plant origin is not evidence that a caffeine product cannot cause unwanted effects. for comparing your options, source, amount, formulation, and evidence answer different questions.
our ingredient standard
workflow states the caffeine supplied by guarana: 20 mg per gummy. that makes it possible to compare with a drink, gum or another gummy without guessing from the weight of a plant extract.
look for that same clarity in any product: the ingredient source, caffeine per serving and the number of servings you actually plan to use. the formula page puts our amounts next to the complete package labels.

[ GOOD QUESTIONS ]
a little more clarity
is 75 mg guarana the same as 75 mg caffeine?
no. guarana extract contains caffeine along with other constituents. use the stated caffeine amount to compare products.
does guarana provide slow-release caffeine?
the cognitive studies discussed here do not establish a controlled-release mechanism for workflow. that would require relevant absorption evidence.
